Anime Review: Yumeiro Patissiere (2009)

Okay so if you follow or try to keep up with my instagram account, you will know that I had really wanted to watch this, pretty much since I first started watching anime and was scrolling through forums to make lists of animes I wanted to check out in the future. This was one of the first that I searched for of that list and upon doing so, I realised that it wasn't very well known or popular which was probably why I had trouble finding it anywhere to watch. I quickly dismissed the thought of this anime until just a few days ago when I stumbled across my old 'anime to watch' list that included this title. Having forgot what the anime was about, I researched it and began to watch. (I eventually found every episode on youtube btw)

I have started many animes that I only watched a couple of episodes from and have plans to continue, but this one was different as I found myself bingeing all 50 episodes in less than 3 days.

This anime is pretty much the definition of kawaii so if, like me, that is all you seek in an anime, please watch this one and you won't be disappointed.

This story follows Ichigo Amano who dreams of being a patissiere chef and goes to a special school in order to make her wish come true. I don't want to give any of the plot away because that's the only information I knew when I started watching it and it amazed me.

I am currently half way through the second season (entitled Yumeiro Patissiere Professional) which shows Ichigo and pals 2 years later and contains some element of romance too. I recommend this super kawaii anime to anyone (plus theres an added bonus of it being all about food, so whats not to love?)

Overall, I am in love with this show and would rate it as being one of my favourites I've ever seen (behind Marmalade Boy of course, but nothing will ever come close to beating that)
